About

Rita Stoller graduated from architecture school in Bern Switzerland in 1969.

Rita worked for several renowned architecture firms in Bern, Switzerland. With her team she designed schools. commercial projects and residential buildings. She immigrated to Canada in 1979 to pursue her passion to own and run a dairy farm with her husband. During her 20 year farming career she dreamed of designing homes again including her dream home on a waterfront property they bought in 1989. In 1999 her dream came true and while still milking cows she planned and designed her home which she still resides in today.

In 2004 through unique circumstances she met Randy Porter who is the owner and general contractor of RK Porter. He helped her to design on a larger scale and to learn Canadian construction practices.

Since then Randy and Rita have been an excellent team combining Randy’s superior quality in construction with Rita’s design flair.

Rita’s Design Philosophy

It is very important that the new building fits in the existing landscape and to keep it as natural as possible.

Build the home for the lives of the owners and integrate their hobbies like artwork, wine cellars, book shelves, large photos and make it elegant and timeless.

Less colours, less clutter and minimalist furniture help to maintain comfort and ease of living. Rita’s daughter, Organized Jane, helps to keep her decluttering and minimalist mindset since she is the author of Decluttering for Dummies.
